Making Dyslexia Friendly interactive iBooks

I’m currently converting some of my iBooks into dyslexia friendly readers using a special weighted text from OpenDyslexic, who are doing some great work in the field.

The text is bottom heavy, to help prevent unintentional rotation by the reader, and I’m finding it’s a nice font to read.

There’s lots of other tips and tricks I’m learning too – like justifying everything to the left and each line shouldn’t exceed 9 words.

Once I’ve finished one, I’ll make it available free for teachers and hopefully get some good feedback.
